Summer Health Tips

1. Eat light, nutritious and non-fatty meals.
2. Reduce intake of heavy vegetables and fruits, like spinach, radish, hot peppers, onions, garlic, beetroot, pineapple, grapefruit and ripe mangoes
3. Include lots of fruits and vegetables in the form of salads and fresh juices, preferably without sugar, in your diet
4. Drink lemon juice, coconut water and thin buttermilk, to replenish the fluids that are lost in sweat
5. Avoid sugary foods, especially honey and molasses, and stick to natural sugars available from fruits and veggies.
6. Get some sleep! Six to eight hours of sleep will do wonders to keep you relaxed, fun-loving and productive throughout summer.
7. Eat smart and stay smart! Keep your brain and body healthy and active. Get plenty of fruits and vegetables and remember there is more to protein than meat.
8. Drink plenty of water to stay well hydrated during the hot summer months.
9. Apply and wear sunscreen and lip balm. Reapply as needed to protect your skin and lips.
10. Take a rest or nap. Don't push yourself beyond your physical limits.
11. Wear Sunglasses. Sunglasses protect your eyes from the sun's UV rays.
12. Keep your surrounding clean
13. Limit your activity in the sun
14. Coffee and tea are not all good as they stimulate the central nervous system and are very addictive.
